On October 25, 2024, Heaven’s gate opened and welcomed Sarah D. Guerra home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sarah was born Aug 25, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas. She lived 87 wonderful years and is loved by all her family and friends and by so many others.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years Raul Guerra, Sr (2008), her brother Edward Diaz Sr and sister-in-law Gloria Diaz, her parents Sarah L. Diaz and Guadalupe S. Diaz and by two children Victor Joe and Veronica Guerra
She was a beautiful woman even when she took her last breath. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who was always there for her family when needed. Always offering her support, wisdom, kindness and love in abundance.
She loved her Jesus and reading her Bible. Some of her favorite Psalms were:Psalm 38 (A Prayer In Times of Sickness)Psalm 56 (Trusting God for Help)Psalm 63 (Wishing To Be Near God)Psalm 91 (Safe In The Lord)Psalm 100 (A Call to Praise the Lord)Psalm 103 (Praise to the Lord of Love)Psalm 104 (Praise to God Who Made the World)
The last Psalm prayed over her the night before she passed was Psalm 91 (Safe in the Lord).
When Sarah was young, she worked in her Aunt Mary and Uncle Vicente’s Jalisco Bakery and learned to make Mexican pastries. She went on to become a wife and mother to 7 children (5 boys and 2 girls) and would bake many Mexican pastries at home for her family to enjoy. She was a wonderful cook and every year her family looked forward to her traditional New Year’s Eve Menudo, it truly was yummy. Thanksgiving and Christmas were always special as well when she and her husband Raul would cook up turkey, ham and all the fixings to go along with it. Holidays and birthdays were always a family event with all their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and family friends. Their gatherings were always full of love and special times with the whole family.
Sarah studied cosmetology and graduated from Fox Tech High School. Her taking cosmetology is why she was always made up so pretty in face and hair and clothes and jewelry. She loved to look beautiful and always loved her blingy jewelry.
