

Sarah H. Smith., age 92, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family. She was born on October 13, 1933, in Bloomington, Illinois. Sarah married Eugene M. Smith on May 29, 1954, in Bloomington, Illinois. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and enduring commitment.
Her family was the heart of her life, and she gave of herself generously to those she loved. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Smith and Kathy Davis; sons, Douglas Smith and Gary Smith; eleven cherished grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two brothers, Dick Schulz and Eddy Schulz.
She is preceded in death by husband, Eugene Smith; son, Steve Smith; and daughter, Sharon Bledsoe.
Sarah was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. She served as a cook for School District 87 and later as Head Baker at Illinois Wesleyan University, where her talents and dedication were appreciated by many.
In her free time, Sarah found joy in knitting, sewing, crocheting, and cross-stitching, creating beautiful handmade treasures that will be cherished for years to come. She was known by many for her knitted slippers.
Sarah will be remembered as a kind, giving, and hardworking woman whose faith guided her through her life. Sarah’s warmth, generosity, and steadfast love touched all who knew her. She leaves behind many treasured memories that will continue to comfort her family and friends.
A private service for immediate family and spouses will be held at a later time.
