She was born on October 17, 1949, to the late Annie L. Gipe and David “D.B.” B. Brown.
Sarah lived a life distinguished by service, faith, and devotion to family. She proudly served as an Army Soldier and later worked in numerous professional roles, including Medical Technologist, Avon Representative, Hospitality and Event Planning General Manager, and Parent Teacher Association Board Member. In every position she held, Sarah brought dedication, leadership, and genuine selfless care for others.
Her final church home was as a faithful member of Heights Community Church, where she joyfully applied her many talents in service to her church family. She especially loved working with children, whom she considered the future leaders and heart of the community. Throughout her lifelong faith journey as a Disciple of Christ, Sarah served in many capacities, including Deacon, Choir Director, Choir Member, Church Secretary, Social Director, Food Pantry Outreach volunteer, and small group leader. Her steadfast faith guided her life and touched countless others. Sarah had the ability to see beauty in many things that others often overlook and treasured the joy found in simple things.
Sarah was the oldest of seven siblings. She was preceded in death by her brothers, David “Bud” L. Brown and Mitchell “Mitch” A. Brown, as well as by her granddaughter, Alexandria “Alex.” Sarah is survived by four of her brothers: William “Billy” M. Brown, James “Jim” R. Brown, Lee C. Brown, and Charles “Charlie” L. Brown.
Sarah was married to Joseph “Jody” B. Warren for over 52 years, and together they built a loving family. She is survived by her children, Joseph “Joe” Warren II and his wife, Gwynne; Elizabeth Brown and her husband, Eric; and Rebecca Terry and her husband, Clayton.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Cameron and her husband, Brian; Faith; Joseph III; Reagan; Payton; Connor; Hope; Grace; Clint; Hunter; and Virginia.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on March 13, 2026, at Heights Community Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Sarah’s honor to the San Antonio Food Bank (https://safoodbank.org/) or to Heights Community Church (https://heightscc.com/).
Sarah’s legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
May you find comfort in Sarah’s favorite scripture verse from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
