

Our beloved Sharon Goode Ballenger passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, in San Antonio at the age of 62 years after a brief illness. She was born in San Benito, Texas on December 29, 1952, to Robert and Merle Goode. She is preceded in death by father, Robert Henry Goode Sr. and mother, Merle Cowart Goode.
She was survived by her beloved daughter, Katie Beth Ballenger Ramon and her wonderful children, Macie Ballenger, Maddie Ramon and Arturo Ramon III, as well as her devoted puppies Sammy and Emma. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert (Jeanette) Goode Jr or San Benito, Texas; Tommy (Sandra) Goode of Henderson, Texas; Keith (Debra) Goode of Boerne, Texas; and Kathy (Roger) Miller of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by a large loving family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She graduated from San Benito High School in 1971. In 1974, Sharon graduated from the Pan American Campus of the University of Texas in Edinburg, Texas where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education with a major in English.
Sharon joined USAA Real Estate Company in 1990. In her current position as Managing Director of Marketing, Sharon was responsible for marketing and advertising services for all USAA RealCo's lines of business and investor services. Sharon set up and coordinated investor meetings all over the country and around the world. She took great pride in all her corporate endeavors; she was a consummate perfectionist.
She previously worked from 1982 to 1990 for the Duke Companies. Prior to relocating to San Antonio, Sharon was responsible for the full scope of office operations for Ballenger Paving Company, in Harlingen, Texas, a family owned business. From 1974 to 1976, Sharon was a secondary English teacher.
Sharon was very passionate about the YMCA and was on various boards from 1985 to 2001.
Honorary Pallbearers are her nephews: Allen Goode, Tyler, Goode, Wesley Goode, Michael Goode, Steven Goode, Daniel Ballenger, Troy Ballenger, Lance Thompson, Ryan Thompson and Cody Thompson.
Visitation with the family will be held at the Porter Loring North Mortuary (2102 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio) on Thursday evening from 6-8PM. Services are scheduled there for Friday at Noon with interment to follow on Saturday at 2PM at Mont Meta Cemetery in San Benito.

Sharon was totally devoted to family. She was our wedding planner for all her nieces and nephews weddings. She cherished her one-on-one time with each of her grandbabies. Sharon was an incredible mother, "MiMi", daughter, sister and friend.
She had a wonderful, kind and caring spirit and will be so missed.
