We are sorry for your loss. We were fondly remembering Si when we used to work for stock broker in 1969. He came in one Friday and wanted to know where his money was and I told him we hadn't received authorization and he told us that he had to pay on time so we needed to pay him. I called at 4:45 EST and they told me that is was 15 minutes till they closed on Friday. I told them that it meant they still had 15 minutes to get the customer paid as he was right and deserved to get paid. When he was right, he was right and he will be missed.

Having just read of the wonderful life of Simon, I am sorry that I never got know him. Having seen Stewart 'in action', I can now begin to understand that he is his father's son. My thoughts are with you.

I only knew Si late in his life--at Morning Minyan at Agudas, mostly. He was both knowledgeable about judaism and courtly in conveying his knowledge. As an aside, He and my late father, Sidney Berg, both went to Boy's High School in Brooklyn, and graduated the same year but they didn't know each other! My sympathies to you all.
