Sam is survived by his wife of 52 years, Olga, his three daughters, Ursula, Olga (Andy), and Gigi (David), four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Sam was born in Redlands, CA on October 28, 1938, and graduated from San Jose High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War and retired from Saudia Airlines as an aircraft inspector supervisor.
Sam lived a special and blessed life, one that most of us only dream about. Over his life, he lived in four different countries and spent most of his adult life working overseas in countries such as Vietnam, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. He also traveled the World with his wife, visiting and experiencing 68 different countries spanning 6 continents. The stories and experiences that he shared were as amazing as they were numerous.
Sam loved spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid photographer of which thousands of photographs were taken during his adventures. He was also an all-around handyman, where he could fix and maintain almost anything from general automotive to construction.
His biggest legacy however are the ones he leaves behind with his loving wife, family, and countless friends. He recently reflected on his life and wondered how he had become so lucky. He will be painfully missed, and we all look forward to the time when we will once again be reunited.
Services and a celebration of his life will be held on August 3rd at 2 pm at the Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home located at 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX.
