Sonia, who resided in San Antonio, Texas for 25 years, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 7:05 pm, after a long battle with cancer. She fought a good fight, and she truly finished her course. Sonia’s motto was FAITH over fear! She was committed to keeping her eyes on Jesus no matter what the circumstance looked like. Sonia set the example that we should follow…..TRUST GOD NO MATTER WHAT COMES!
Sonia Rochelle Green was born at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, on June 29, 1961. She lived with her family at various Air Force bases. In her teen years, she gave her life to Christ and the following year she graduated from Ben Eielson Jr/Sr High School in Alaska, in 1979 and went on to Business College in Tucson, Arizona. From Arizona, she moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. In 1982, she married Jacob and moved to Wichita Falls, Texas (Sheppard AFB) with him. While at Sheppard, she had her first daughter (Sari), she was so excited and scared to become a mother. Sonia moved many times with her father in the Air Force, so she adjusted quickly to the many moves she had to make with her husband. She loved being a mother so much that in 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada (Nellis AFB), she welcomed a second daughter (Sherice). Her family was complete, so she thought. She continued to open her home to many, many more.
Sonia is the beloved daughter of William* and Mary* Green. They had five children: Robbie Green (Linda), Debra Green*, Shawn Green*, and Maurice Green. She also has a stepsister: Bonnie Brown. Sonia’s immediate family: Her husband Jacob, daughters Sari Brown and Sherice Schwirtlich (Erik)….and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were grafted in. Sonia also has two grandsons, Kodah and Niko. *(These family members preceded Sonia in death.)
