'i am so sadden at the loss of my dearest friend Sonya Cisneros Jimenez. I met Sonya when we were 3 years old. We went to kinder with Ms. Davila. Sonya was always the level headed one. She moved away but soon were back in each others lives where we remained until she left to be with the Good Lord in Heaven. Sonya always had a beautiful and welcoming smile on her face. Her love was for her friends, the love of her life Manny, her family and her furry pets. I remember going to see the movie Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John when it first came to the theater. We would watch religiously the Donny and Marie show. How I loved my friend when she surprised me with tickets to go see my favorite singer Olivia Newton John in San Antonio, Texas in Nov 2012. We acted like little kids singing her songs and reminiscing to our younger days. Sonya moved away to San Antonio, Texas, but we kept in touch. Sometimes we did not say much but it felt like we each knew what the other was thinking. I miss my dear friend everyday. I thank god for having given me a special friend like Sonya. Love you my friend and see you when I get there.

'My first remembrance of Sonya was when I walked through the doors of Ernst & Young for my interview in 2007. From that instance I knew that she had a beautiful soul. It was an honor and pleasure of knowing her and working with her for 3 years while I lived in Texas. My family and I returned back to Boston in 2010 and Sonya was so kind with her words when I left. I remember her telling me that we had to promise to keep in touch especially when our favorite basketball teams were playing. She would email me when the San Antonio Spurs and the Boston Celtics were playing. We were the cheerleaders for each team.

At difficult times like this I read this quote that keeps me going and I pray that it will also give Manny and family strength.
I am always saddened by the death of a good person. It is from this sadness that a feeling of gratitude emerges. I feel honored to have known them and blessed that their passing serves as a reminder to me that my time on this beautiful earth is limited and that I should seize the opportunity I have to forgive, share, explore, and love. I can think of no greater way to honor the deceased than to live this way.
