Sophie L. Imbody, age 97, of Houston, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023. She was born 25th of November, 1925 to Annie and Ignatz Zaiontz. She was preceded in death by husband Percy of 53 years and daughter in law, Rise Imbody. Sophie attended Draughon’s Business College. She was a charter member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church being active in Altar guild, volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul with weekly adorations since she started. Sophie was a Catholic Daughter of America – Daughters of Our Lady Fatima #2596. She was also a member of Cardinal Gibbons Literary Club.
She is survived by daughter Patricia Mounce, son Philip Imbody, Three Grandchildren Courtney Harris, Chelsea Jefferson, Katlynd Fulks, and Great-grandchildren Cameron, Kaiden, Piper, and Kaysen.
A rosary for Sophie will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM with a mass to follow at 11:30 AM at St. John Neumann, 6680 Crestway Dr. San Antonio 78239. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul.
