He joined the US Army in 1959 and retired as a Sgt. Major from active duty in 1980 after nearly 21 years of service. Stanley served 3 tours in Vietnam and held the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit.
While stationed at Fort Rucker in Alabama in 1969, Stanley met and fell in love with Lydia A. Roberts, and they were married in March of 1970. Stanley’s 2 greatest sources of pride were his military service and his family. While a private man of humble disposition, Stanley had a wry sense of humor and artful comedic timing.
He leaves within his circle of family and friends a lexicon of Stanleyisms, most of which are not appropriate for publication here. The family extends their condolences to E & J Brandy, who’s South Texas sales will likely plumet following his death.
Stanley was predeceased by his parents, his older brother John Dudek and wife Lynn of Long Beach, California, and by his son, Scott A. Dudek.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 56 years, his nephew David Dudek of Knoxville, Tennessee, niece Julie (Dudek) Langevin of Long Beach, California, and niece Kim Strickland, of Nashville, Tennessee.
