Stanley E. Marcus, husband, father, grandfather and well-loved member of the community, began his final journey on September 29th, 2024 surrounded by loving family.
Stanley was born and raised in San Antonio, attending Jefferson High School and subsequently, the University of Texas at Austin. He began his career with Levi Strauss as a territory representative based in McAllen, Texas and remained in Menswear, owning stores there and Bryan. He eventually moved back to San Antonio where he became vice president for Telesis International, a textile organization, spending half his time overseas in Tokyo. It was during this time that he met his future wife at a quaint little watering hole called Raffles.
In addition to owning multiple car repair franchises, Stanley then found his true calling – becoming a financial planner, where many of his clients became close friends. During his career, he was given numerous awards for his dedication and performance to his clients.
Stanley enjoyed piloting his own plane, often to Horseshoe Bay, in addition to sailing and golfing (which he wasn’t great at!) and loved a good single malt scotch.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Hyman and Hortense Marcus. He is survived by his sometimes-pleasant wife, of 30 years, Joanna; daughter Michelle Ditzenberger and husband David; daughter Stacy Fuller and husband Bill; daughter Alyssa Teer and husband Bill; son Benjamin Blakelock and wife Madelyn Duffey, grandsons Austin Lapensohn, Dylan Ditzenberger and Tanner Ditzenberger, Joshua and Mason Fuller, Jackson and Gage Teer; brother Donald Marcus and wife Barbara and finally, his two ill-behaved pups, Ramona and FerdinandA celebration of life will be held in the near future with details to follow. Donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or a charity of your choosing.
Cheers to a life well-lived, and safe travels! 😊
