Stephen William Blount IV died at the age of 75 on December 10 of heart failure. The oldest of five boys, he was a lifelong cowboy and outlaw. A proud Texan, he was a descendant of a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. Born and raised in San Antonio, he also lived in Austin, Dallas, and Port Aransas. He was an avid football fan and rarely missed the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon (Sig Ep) fraternity at the University of Texas and fondly remembered those years in college as some of his best times.
Steve was fiercely devoted to his only child, Kelly. After losing his home in Hurricane Harvey he relocated to Atlanta to be close to her and her family. Always in pursuit of fun, he enjoyed movies, games, and good food. He passed down his strength, intensity, and his eyebrows! He will be remembered for his humor and his passion for living life his way.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Maxine Whitten Blount and Stephen William Blount III, his younger brother Gregory Keith and nephew Michael Craig. He is survived by his daughter Kelly Blount Kruse and her husband Wade, and his grandchildren Reagan Elizabeth, Aaron William, and Lane Whitten. He also leaves behind his brothers Craig, Mark and his wife Donna, Scott, and his wife Catherine, as well as several nieces and nephews.
