Steve was born on April 28, 1955, to James L. Johnson and Mary V. Drew in Mercedes, Texas. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1973. That same year he joined the Navy, where he retired in 1994, after 21 years of proud service.
He met his wife, Cheryl Anne Johnson during his time in the service in 1984. Stephen and Cheryl have two children, Timothy and Christopher.
Steve became a volunteer Firefighter for the city of Groton, Connecticut from 1986–1990, and Goose Creek Fire Department from 1991-1994. He started volunteering at the San Antonio Rodeo in 2021 and continued to be an active member throughout the years.
In 2022, he joined his submarine group P.C. Stryker Base, USSVI; where he became an active member and served as Treasurer for the group.
Stephen Johnson was a loving husband, devoted father, proud Navy Veteran and friend to many. His love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all of us who knew him.
