Stephen Hoyt Mangrum graced the world on August 27th 1980 in Lodi California, blessing his parents, Richard Mangrum and Carol Mangrum, their first child. Stephen grew up in Northern California along side of his loving siblings Jonathan Mangrum and Kristina Jackson.
No surprise, he graduated ahead of his time in 1997 from Bear Creek High School in Stockton California. After high school, Stephen entered the military in 1999 and served our country with the US Navy. With his honorable (we'll leave it at that) discharge in 2001, Stephen made his way through a journey of finding his "place" to call home. Amongst his time in Sonora, Clear Lake, New Mexico, and many other places, he always left a huge impact on everyone that he came in contact with.
During his journey Stephen decided to pursue his love, talent, and passion of working with his (very big) hands. He worked alongside of his Uncle Mike learning the "trade" before deciding to move on, on his own. Stephen made the decision to move to Texas and pursue his dream of building his own business. After much dedication and hard work, Stephen succeeded in his vision of making a real name for himself in the San Antonio area.
Besides making a "name" for himself in San Antonio, Stephen made San Antonio his home. He was building his dream of having his own family. He was an amazing father to his pride and joy, Izabel "Izzy" Schwender. (She truly will always be the light of his life.) Stephen was also a wonderful husband to his wife, Jessica "Jessie" Mangrum. (She will always be the one amazing, true love of this life.)
Stephen's passion, besides his amazing talent to build, was being out with his fishing pole. It never mattered what time of season, week, or day it was.he was always down to cast a line. For that matter he was always "catchin' not fishin'." His other pastime was throwin' some darts. He loved to play with his league at Bonds 007, and loved to be out with his teammates.
Stephen went to help build for us all a place that we can enter for eternity on October 6th, 2012. When we all are together again, he will be there open arms for us, because we all know.He always wins :)
Aside from his family, Stephen has a huge group of friends that he has touched wide and far. His wife, daughter, and family would like to thank every one of you for your loving outreach in this very difficult time in our lives. We plan to have a more "informal" gathering to celebrate Stephen at a little later time, both in Texas and in California. Please be patient with us, for we too want to very soon be able to collaborate all our love for him with each of you.
