Stephen Matthew Pino

We are sad to announce the passing of Stephen Matthew Pino on Monday February 19, 2024 at University Hospital in San Antonio. He was just 30 years old. Stephen was born July 25,1993 at Dover AFB DE, to Anthony S. Pino (deceased) and Donna M. (Wachel). He leaves behind his wife, Nanthaya; brothers, Nicholas and Timothy (Julie Frey); mother, Donna and stepfather Mike Harmon; stepbrother, Michael Harmon; stepsister, Jessica Smith (John) and many aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.

Stephen had been working as a senior software engineer for Home Depot for 6 years. He enjoyed his job and loved all types of technology. He was a 2011 graduate of MacArthur High School and a 2016 graduate of University of Texas at Austin with a BS in neuroscience. He enjoyed spending time and traveling with his wife and their two chihuahuas Minnie and Josie, playing video games, following Spurs basketball, playing basketball, keeping fit and word games.

Stephen was a quiet man until he got to know you, then he’d share his sense of humor and passion for life with you. He was diagnosed with leukemia in June 2020 just as covid was beginning. Stephen demonstrated great strength, determination, resilience and love for life as he battled through chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, CarT therapy and the many side effects that come with treatment. He was a favorite of the nurses at the clinic and in the hospital.
