Stephen Scott Tezel, age 46, of San Antonio, passed away January 26, 2012. Born in San Antonio on June 15, 1965 to Paul and Barbara Tezel, he later graduated from John Marshall High School.
Shortly before graduation he suffered a spinal cord injury, but did not allow that to stop him from completing college, and then running a successful business. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and eventually served on the board of the directors of the alumni association.
He was part owner of Tezel and Cotter Air Conditioning, along with his father and brother. He served as President of Mechanical and Sheet metal Contractors of San Antonio, and as a member of the board of the directors of the American Sub-contractors Association.
A lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church he served on numerous boards and committees. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed the outdoors. His true joy was his seven nieces/nephews, family, and many friends.
Stephen is survived by his grandmother, Helen Tezel; his parents, Barbara and Paul; his brothers, Mark, with wife Alicia, and John, with wife San Juana; his nephews, Jacob, Samuel, Noah, Aiden; and nieces, Kaitlin, Aleena, and Alanya.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
