

Steve was known for his infectious smile, booming laugh, and generous heart. He was a lifelong learner who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Lamar University and a Master’s in Education, Sports Management, from The University of Texas.
From 1988 to 1996, Steve proudly served as a B-52 navigator in the U.S. Air Force, completing numerous assignments, receiving multiple commendations, achieving the rank of captain, and forming lasting friendships with those he served. After his honorable military service, Steve transitioned into a successful civilian career, ultimately finding his way to higher education fundraising and philanthropy, where he helped students achieve their academic dreams.
A die-hard Longhorn and Cowboys fan, Steve brought joy and energy to every game day. His love of sports was matched by his love for people—he had a gift of turning strangers into friends. In the final year of his life, Steve embarked on a journey of faith. Traveling across the country, he deepened his understanding of the bible embracing a life of spiritual learning, growth, and renewal.
Steve leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering loyalty to those he cared for. His positive outlook, profound kindness, and steadfast determination live on in all who knew him. He is reunited with his mom and dad in Heaven, and although gone physically, Steve’s spirit continues to shine brightly—forever remembered, forever loved.
A graveside service will be held at Shelter #1, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM (1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209). In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The American Cancer Society or planting a tree in Steve’s memory.
