Sue Carolyn Harmon

Sue was born in Bastroph, LA to Jim and Ida Belle Morris on January 21, 1936. Sue grew up in Crossett, Arkansas and married Delmar R. Harmon on September 16, 1965, in Killeen, Texas. Sue worked as a secretary for a law firm in Killeen then for various Army Commanders for many years. A military spouse through and through, Sue welcomed each move as a chance to make new lifelong friends and explore the world. She was able to call Japan, Italy, England, Germany, Illinois and Texas home. An athlete all her life; she loved baseball, tennis, bowling, football, basketball and especially Pickleball. After retiring to San Antonio, she never lost her Wanderlust – continuing her travels by plane, train and automobile (and ship), taking in one more ballpark in May of this year-combining two of her passions. Between her bright smile and a diva’s sense of style, color and bling, Sue left no doubt she was in the room.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband Del Harmon, son David Harmon, son-in-law Carl Holmgren, grandparents and multiple siblings.

Sue is survived by her children, Kathy Harmon, Alan (Jeannine) Harmon, Janice (Gerald) Parsons, Lisbeth Holmgren, Richard (Raquel) Harmon, Stuart (Michelle) Harmon, her beloved brother Tim (Emma) Morris, 19 Grandchildren and 35 Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will be 12 pm on Tuesday July 22, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Park in the Mausoleum Chapel on Austin Highway. The funeral service will follow immediately at the same location with Pastor Lupina Villalpando-Stewart of Northern Hills United Methodist Church officiating; all are welcome to attend. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery where Sue will be interred next to her husband at Section 40-1213.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be given to Northern Hills United Methodist Church (3703 N Loop 1604 E, 78247) in Sue’s honor.
