Esperanza Serna DeVilbiss, age 79, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Esperanza was born in Laredo, Texas to Virginia Riojas and Antonio Serna, being one of thirteen siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Gene DeVilbiss; and 4 siblings.

Esperanza is survived as a beloved mother to San Juanita "YaYa" Martinez (Mark Soto), Lupita "Chalup" Saucedo (Ruben De Los Santos); sister to nine siblings; grandmother to Samatha Renea (Chris), Eric (Stephanie), Matthew and John Daniel Martinez; and great-grandmother to Ruben Gayle De Los Santos, Emma, Ethan Angel, Jordan, Lauren, Mason, Joshua, and Johnny Martinez.

A visitation for Esperanza will be held at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas 78218 on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm. A Funeral service will take place Friday, October 13th, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home with a committal service to follow at Oak Island Cemetery, 2970 DeVilbiss Ln, San Antonio, Texas 78264 at 12pm.
