Susan was born in Bryan, TX on October 30, 1949 to Betty and Worth Thomas, Jr.
She married Stephen Allen Ainsworth, Sr. on November 9, 1968.
Together they lived in Houston, Nacogdoches, San Antonio, and Canyon Lake, TX and for a time in Atlanta, GA.
In her early years, she took much pride in her profession as a mother and wife. Caring for her family was always her first priority.
She was preceded by both parents, Betty and Worth Thomas, Jr. in 1994 and by her husband, Steve in 1997.
She is survived by her children, Stephen Allen Ainsworth, Jr. and his children Noah and Matthew, her daughter, Staci Ann McGree, her husband Kevin and their son, Tristin and Scott Anson Ainsworth and his friend Courtney Berry. She is also survived by her aunt, many cousins and numerous friends.
Susan was lovingly cared for by a very competent team through Hospice Homecare and her very good friends Anna Visco and Connie Rogers, Mariann Porter and Jan Harrison.
Susan spent her life devoted to family and friends and volunteering in many types of organizations. She was Volunteer Of The Year for her time spent in public school in Houston.
Most recently she was a volunteer and then employed by Hospice New Braunfels as their Volunteer Coordinator. She gave selflessly to patients, families of patients and employees alike. Susan never said " If there is anything I can do please let me know." Where there was a need, she took care of it and it was always with a glad heart.
She lived her life with passion, generosity, and a lot of laughter.
She was loved by so many and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
It was her wish to be united with her husband, Steve, at a place that was so dear to their hearts.
