Suzanne Chalfant, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on September 1, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on February 5, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to Gladys and Francis Marlowe.
Suzanne dedicated much of her life to nurturing young minds and supporting her community. For many years, she worked as a devoted teacher’s aide and a school administrator, where her warmth, patience, and gentle spirit made a lasting impression on students, teachers, and parents alike. Her colleagues often said she had a gift for making every child feel seen, heard, and valued.
Suzanne was the embodiment of generosity. She was always the first to lend a hand or offer a listening ear and she had a heart as big as her laugh.
She shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Zane C. Chalfant. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Suzanne was a devoted mother to her children, a doting grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Zane C. Chalfant; children, Jeff Chalfant (Savannah) and Greg Chalfant; grandchildren, Candice, Courtney, Marlowe, Samuel, Conner, and Madeline; great-grandchild, Callie; sister, Marilyn Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of Suzanne’s life to follow at Porter Loring Mortuary North, located at 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232.
