

Suzie was born in San Antonio, Texas, to June and John Paul “Jack” Gueringer on July 9, 1949. She went to Lee High School and then transferred to Winston Churchill High School in 1966 when it opened, graduating from Churchill in 1968. During high school, she worked at the HemisFair 1968 World’s Fair in San Antonio, where she was a monorail attendant and met her former husband Charles B. Hamilton, Jr. She later attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) in San Marcos. In the ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s, Suzie worked in accounts payable in downtown San Antonio hotels including The Emily Morgan, The Gunter, and El Tropicano. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Suzie is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and June Gueringer and her siblings, John Kirby and Kathleen Gueringer.
Suzie is survived by daughter Jenifer Hamilton Hernandez (Victor Hernandez), grandson Javier Hernandez, and numerous cousins and their children.
Funeral services will be held graveside at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, at Sunset Memorial Park with a luncheon for family and friends following the service at Paloma Blanca Mexican Cuisine.
Memorial donations may be given to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation. Suzie’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Olivia Wilder, the staff of Ascension Seton Hays, the staff of Orchard Park of Kyle, the staff of Legend Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care of Kyle, Halcyon Hospice Care, and the nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists of Enhabit Home Health.
A Graveside service for Suzanne will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas 78218.
