Sylvia Anne Bird

Sylvia Anne (Hynson) Bird, age 91, beloved Mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 18, 2017. Sylvia was born on October 26, 1925, in Washington D.C. where she spent her childhood and attended school. She is preceded in death by her parents James Martin and Sadie (Oliff) Hynson and her husband Ronald Bruce Bird.

Sylvia met Ronald while attending the University of Kansas and the two were blessed with 67 years of marriage until his death in 2015. They resided in various locations in Texas and Ohio while raising their five children were fortunate to live in England and Germany before retiring to the Hill Country and later San Antonio.

She is survived by son Ronald (Annette) Bird, Blanchester, Ohio; daughters Kathryn (Wayne) Nail, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Sandra (Steve) McFadden, San Antonio, Texas; Marlene (Bernie) Yanelli, Bradenton, Florida; and Martha Bird, Austin, Texas. Grandchildren Holly McCrea, Heather Caldwell, Ronnie Nail, John Nail, James Bird, Julie Bird, Bill Yanelli, Luke Yanelli and nine great grand children. Sylvia will be interned at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery with her husband Ronald.
