Takiyah “Nickie” K. Harper passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 31, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. Nickie was born in Valdosta, Georgia on October 18, 1974, to Charles Harper (her biological father) and mother, Daisy M. (Harper) Richards. She was raised by her mother, Daisy and father, Herman E. Richards, currently of San Antonio. Nickie attended Ramstein Highschool at Ramstein ABS in Germany, but graduated from Minot High in Minot, North Dakota. Following her graduation she attended Valdosta State College in Valdosta, Georgia. Nickie is survived by her parents, Daisy M. Richards and Herman E. Richards; her significant other, Derrick Smith; her sons, Jayden C. Brown and Derrick L. Smith; her brothers, Charlquone D. Harper and Dexter A. Harper; her sister, Afiya J. Wilson; and numerous other extended family members, colleagues, and friends.
