Tamin M. McLoughlin

Tamin M. McLoughlin, age 53, died August 14th, 2022. She was born October 31, 1968 in San Antonio, Texas, where she grew up, made memories, and lived all her life. While growing up in San Antonio, Tamin succeeded at everything she put her mind to- especially academics and athletics. Due to her determination and hard work, she attended UTSA on a full ride scholarship. During her time there, she set records in volleyball and graduated at the top of her class. While in college, Tamin realized her passion: to help others. Pursuing her passion, she became a nurse and was able to help countless people and their families, including some of her own friends and family.

She was a leader in her faith. Outside of attending Mass weekly, Tamin found many ways to remain involved in the Church and surrounding faith community. Having received all of her sacraments at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and attending/organizing multiple ACTS retreats with both Holy Spirit and Saint Pius X Catholic Church, she was a model of faith. She even volunteered on many teen ACTS retreats and worked as a nurse at a Christian summer camp as a way to disciple youth and young adults. Tamin always looked to her faith to carry her through any circumstance.

Tamin was always someone you could count on. You could give her a call or stop by the house at any time, and she would be there for you. She would tell you what medicines you might want to ask your doctor about, give you advice on what wines to buy, or even just be there as a shoulder to cry on. She had a laugh that you would notice in any room, as well as a smile that could brighten up your day.

Tamin was dedicated to her work. However, if she was not in the office she was either at home listening to an audiobook while watering the grass, or headed out of town. She spent most weekends in Fredericksburg, Texas; whether it be at a winery or a friend’s home, she was always surrounded by an incredible community of people she loved, never far from a favorite bottle of wine.

Many say that her pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian, and three children; Caitlin, Sean, and Tara. In addition to her husband and children, Tamin was blessed with a rare adoption story that allowed her to have two sets of families that cared for her and loved her deeply. She is also survived by her biological parents, Lynn and Randy Raynolds, her siblings Julie, Beth, Katie, and Scott Raynolds and Tom Uthoff. She was preceded in death by her parents Tony & Beth Uthoff.

Although Tamin was taken from us far too soon, she lived all of her 53 years to the fullest. She was a role model, a friend, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a mother, and a wife. Her strong-willed, determined, sweet, and gentle personality will live on through the simple things in life. The next time you are watching a Hallmark movie, traveling through the Texas hill country, or playing a game with family or friends, may it be her that you think of and remember, as she continues to be a blessing and inspiration to us all.

A visitation for Tamin will be held Sunday, August 28th at 6:00pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 8134 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, Texas, 78216, and will be followed by a Rosary at 7pm. The following day, Monday, August 29th, an additional visitation will be held at 9am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, along with a funeral Mass at 10am followed by a committal service at 12pm at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218, with a reception at the St. Pius X Catholic Church banquet hall to follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, an organization that facilitated Tamin’s adoption in 1968, and will now help future families in need.
