
Abram Casas Davila served in the Army from 1944 – 1946 during WWII in the 21st Infantry Regt. And received numerous medals of honor. Asiatic -Pacific Campaign Medal, good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupational Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and World War II Victory Medal.
He was born on May 28, 1926 and passed away on December 25, 2019.
After his service he proudly joined the workforce and completed 41 years with NWB Foundation as a Machine Operator in Engineering.
Two years into retirement Abram rejoined the workforce at Patriot Heights in the housekeeping department for 13 years to keep himself busy and active.
Abram married Frances Hernandez on June 18, 1947 completing 72 years of marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Davila were blessed with 8 children. Cecelia Fagen (Art – deceased), Abram Davila (Lydia), Francisco Davila, Richard Davila, Raymond Davila (Susan), Irma Garcia (Sabino), Danny Davila (Belinda), Debra Medina (Daniel).
24 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
He is survived by his two sisters, Rebecca D. Webb and Neomi Woodard and numerous nieces and nephews. And his beloved Chihuahua - Rudi Davila.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rev. Francisco Davila and Cecelia Davila, son Raymond Davila, brothers and sisters, Elliott Casas, Ramon Davila, Elu Davila, Noe Davila, Rachel Trevino and Maria Luz Herrera.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park South. Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Mission Park South. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
