

Telise "Tee" Johnsen Broughton died quietly in her sleep on August 16, 2008, in San Antonio. Husband John H. Broughton, former Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, predeceased her in 2007. First husband Miles L. Johnsen, also an FBI agent and later a San Antonio attorney, died in 1981. Tee managed the offices of a number of independent oil producers during her working life, including Martin, Shelly & Thomas; Jack Watson/W.B. Osborn, Jr.; Rollis Wofford; Wynn D. Miller; George Musselman; and Cal Michelson/Enre Corporation. She was a longtime member and 1963 president of Desk & Derrick, an association of oil industry professionals, and an early member of the Petroleum Club of San Antonio. Following retirement, Tee served on the Board of the Visiting Nurses Association 1987 Volunteer of the Year and worked with the San Antonio Conservation Society 25-year service citation, 1993. She also was active in the Women's Auxiliary of the Association of Former Special Agents of the FBI. Born July 17, 1924, to the late Elvie Leger and Willis Courville, Tee was predeceased by her four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by daughter, Telise Johnsen Berns and son, Dr. Mark L. Johnsen; stepdaughters, Linda B. Mendez, Sally Broughton Cutler, and Judy Broughton Gonzalez; many nieces and nephews; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
