Terese Ann "Terry" Scharpenberg

Terese Ann “Terry” Scharpenberg, 64, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. She was born in Vallejo, CA on August 12, 1950 to Wayne and Mary Szydloski. Terry graduated from Taipei American High School and received her B.A. in History from Incarnate Word University. She retired after 35 years with USAA and most recently had been employed at Yellow Cab in San Antonio. She and her husband Mel had been married for 29 years. Terry was actively involved with the American Legion and Auxiliary and an active member of the San Antonio Chapter of the CPCU Society.

She is survived by her husband Melvin Scharpenberg; mother, Mary Szydloski; daughter, Jennifer Siddle and her husband Jason; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Sarah Siddle; brothers and sisters, Jack Szydloski and wife Tammy, Patricia Hosek, Dennis Szydloski and wife Cathy, Mary Gibbens and husband Pete, Nancy Walsh and husband Stephen and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy in San Antonio. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
