Thelma Henderson

Thelma Henderson was born on July 30th, 1934 in Gonzales, Texas. Thelma is Lillian and Henry Hardaway youngest daughter. She is the sister of Hilda, Henry, Helen, Leroy, Elmore, Roy and Nettie. Thelma graduated from Edward High School in Gonzales, Texas. She attended Nursing School in San Antonio, Texas and retired as a LVN at Brooks Army Medical Center. Thelma married the love of her life Leroy Henderson, May 19th, 1953; they were married for 64 years. To their union four children were born, Mary, Larry, Janice and Tammy. She adored her grandchildren Carroll, Charles, Porcha, Tameron and Terry. She worked hard to encourage positive values of educations and faith. Her favourite saying was to walk out on faith.

Thelma cherished her great grandchildren Gavyn, Mateo and Mya. She was mom to Terry Peden (Tammy), Carroll McHaney (Mary), Milton Russell (Janice), Angelica McHaney (Carroll), Carmel Henderson (Larry) and Ann Barnes. She was auntie to a host of nieces and nephews and a second mother to Georgy, Joanne, Laura and Tasha. Her heart was her niece Nettie whom she adored and regarded as a daughter. Thelma was an entrepreneur and her favourite hobbies were cooking, shopping and decorating. She loved nursing and living life on the go.
