Our beloved Deanie Burks Putnam, loving wife and mother lost her fight with cancer on May 24, 2003 at the age of 72 years. She was called to be with the Lord and reunited with her father, Luther J. Burks and her mother Addie Lou Speir Burks who preceded her in death.
Deanie was born on August 5, 1930 in El Paso, Texas. She later moved to Austin, TX where she met and married her husband, Earl E. Putnam, of 53 years. They later moved to San Antonio where she was active in the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and the Bexar County Cooperative Extension Service. She was always ready and willing to assist anyone who needed help. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Putnam; son, Steven E. Putnam of California; granddaughter, Amy Dean Marie Putnam Covey and husband Chris; great-grandson, Josiah Covey of San Antonio, TX; sister, Connie Speir of Granite Shoals, TX; brother, Lewis James Burks and wife Marge of Austin, TX; brother J. Martin Burks and wife Ruth of Austin, TX; and numerous nephews, grand nephews, nieces and grand nieces.
