Theresa A. Drake of San Antonio, Texas, died Monday, January 13, 2014, at age 97. “Terri” Drake was an accomplished artist who displayed her work in galleries of Laguna Beach, California, Kansas City, Missouri, San Antonio and Kerrville, Texas, West Germany and Paris, France. Her painting of a clown was published in thirteen West German newspaper’s Sunday Supplement to depict October Fest, a German carnival season. She married her husband, Clarence H. Drake, at Randolph AFB chapel on December 11, 1941 and served at many Air Force installations with her husband in the United States and overseas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carl Kilbourne, and her husband. She is survived by her sons, Dennis K. Drake, wife Josephine, and Carl H. Drake; granddaughters, Kerry Wiest, husband Mike, Lauretta Drake Bahry, husband, Gregg, Denise Drake Muller, husband John, and three great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway SA, TX 78218 with graveside services to follow at 2:45 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach SA,TX 78209.
