Thomas C. Cole

Thomas C. Cole went to be with the Lord peacefully in the presence of his family on October 20, 2013. Tom was born on January 24, 1931 to T.A. Cole and Ottie Pearl Homan Cole in Northport, Alabama. He enlisted in the USAF in 1951, serving 4 yrs. He graduated from the University of Alabama where he obtained a degree in Finance. Tom joined the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas, TX in 1957 and then was promoted to Asst. V.P. at the San Antonio Branch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, T.A. and Ottie Pearl Cole. Tom was the beloved husband of Ruth Ballard Cole for 55 yrs. Loving children: son, Thomas Allen and wife Lanisa Yates Cole; daughter, Michele and husband Jason Toon; son, Charles Ryan and wife Je'Nee Vandergriff Cole. He has 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Loving sisters: Martha Ferrell and husband Wesley; Mildred Lee and husband Richard. He also has numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends whom he was blessed to know. Tom loved listening and singing to the Gaithers, laughing, being with family and having fun with friends.

Tom touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 1:30 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to charity of choice.
