Thomas Garnold Mcdavid

Tom was born on August 7, 1937 to Lula Tillie and the late Garnold McDavid. He grew up in Houston, TX and graduated from Austin High School before attending Texas A&M and the University of Houston.

He met the love of his life, Stasia in 1959. After marrying in 1961 and having two children, they moved to San Antonio in 1969. Tom was a loving father and very proud of his two children, Tommy, Jr. and Kandi.

Tom loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Tom was a happy man and loved life!

Tom was preceded in death by his father Garnold McDavid; his brother, Michael McDavid; and his stepfather, Lewis Chaney.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Stasia; his mother, Tillie Chaney; his son, Tommy and his fiancée, Crystal and their son, Tommy; his daughter, Kandi Caveda and husband, Ed of Corpus Christi, TX; grandsons, Justin, Evan and Aaron Caveda; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Howard and Jane Tope of Houston, TX; niece and nephew, Kimberley and Michael Tope.

Pallbearers will be John Richardson, Barry Stevens, V.J. Moore, Ernie Kuehner, Bobby Kuehner and Bobby Chestnut. Honorary Pallbearers are his three grandsons, Justin, Evan and Aaron Caveda and Terry Boenecke, Rick Cayse and Leroy Watkins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sharon Wilkes and her staff for the loving care given to Tom and for the faith they gave him, The Americare Hospice for making these last few weeks as comfortable as possible.
