I am saddened to learn Tom passed. He was a friend of mine at San Antonio International Airport when we both worked at Dee Howard Company. He was training to fly. Tom was a joy to work with and I miss his sly wit and attitude. He told me often of his family in Nixon. I wish I could speak with them just to have closure.

Tom was a gentle soul that I knew when he was training to be a pilot at Dee Howard, where we worked. I was very saddened to learn he had passed on. Tom trained me to work flight line and I think of him very fondly. I will say a prayer for him and his family.

Great memories with a dear friend who will be missed by all. An amusing quote>>When we were in Junior High one of our classmates asked Bernice Boone our math teacher where she got our algebra problems because we were well aware that they came from no math book and Tommy said "She reaches up and gets them out of the air" and I truly believe he was right.

To Tom's Family: 
 All have lost the presence of such a wonderful human being and only our words and memories are witness to Tom's heart,deeds and humanity. 
 Only on loan for such a short time, 
 greater deeds and missions are God's calling for Tom's spirit.

Tommy's smile said it all. Our Class of '67 was blessed to have Tommy. He always had a great smile, hug, cheerful attitude and helping hand. My sympathy goes out to his family. Tommy will be more than a memory; he will be a living presence to us all.

Tommy's wonderful smile is probably the thing I will always remember most about him. We graduated together and were friends. I feel a great loss although I haven't seen him for many years. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Sincerely, Brenda English Downey

Tommy and I were classmates, friends and neighbors from the 1st grade through the 12th. I will always remember his warm smile.

Tom will be sadly missed here as a great pilot and wonderful friend. He has passed his final checkride, and I know where ever I may be flying, he is the SkyPilot that will always be flying with me. Good flying, Always, my friend.

I will always remember Tom as a good friend and an excellent pilot. During the time I flew with him he was a favorite of our passengers not only for his skills and proffesionalism but also for his friendly and happy demeanor. We will miss him dearly.
