
Tom moved with his family from Georgia to San Antonio at an early age where he attended Serna Elementary, Garner Middle School and graduated from McArthur High School, class of '66.
After high school, Tom enlisted in the US Air Force where he proudly served his country including a tour of duty in Viet Nam.
After his discharge, he returned home and went to work first for HEB as a truck driver and later he drove for Zero, SMT, Chemical Express, and Arrowall. After retiring, he and his wife moved to the valley 2 years ago to pursue their great love of fishing.
Tom was preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Thomas G. and Mary Sue Richardson; and mother, Edith Hope Jackson.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife, Janis Richardson; step-daughter, Shiela Vangilder, both of Lyford; brother, Kevin Richardson of San Antonio; and his beloved parrots, Kayla, Cody and Zazu; as well as many friends who will remember him as someone who always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell.
A graveside service and interment with full military honors will be held in Bristol, Tennessee at a later date.
