

Tom was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Russell and Mildred Windler, September 15, 1944. Tom married the love of his life, Cynthia Ann Collins, on December 22, 1962. Together they shared 59 wonderful years.
Tom was a proud graduate of The Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 33 and dedicated over 50 years as a Master Plumber, contributing to major projects including SeaWorld San Antonio and the Alamodome as one of the Project Managers. Before his plumbing career, Tom was an artist who painted highway signs across Iowa. He earned awards for his talents as an artist and plumber.
He loved painting, hunting, fishing, and trips to the coast with Cynthia.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Cynthia Windler; Father Russell Windler; Stepmother Veneta Windler; Mother Mildred Windler; Sisters Sally Cerwick and Karen Tabot, Brother-in-law Jim Tabot and Merritt Reisetter.
Tom is survived by his beloved Maltese, Pearl; Children Daniel Windler (Barbara), Donald Windler (Leslie Locke), JoDee Cortez, Tamara Telford (Allen); Sisters Sandra Lee, Noreen Fields (Eric), Julie Windler, and Brother Bill Windler (Cheri) and Sister-in-law Jan Reisetter; Grandchildren Jennifer Armstrong (Luke), Regina Binder, Jacqueline Windler, Rachel Windler, Chelsea Adams (Mark), Jeremiah Anderson, Zachary Cortez, Macayla Cortez and Nicholas Telford; Great-grandchildren, Hayden Lane, Luke Armstrong, Jr., Hartley Armstrong, Walker Binder, Jaxon Anderson, August Anderson and Trinity Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as extended family members Mark Brooks, Joel Cortez, Ursula Noone, Alicia Peche and Eli Camacho.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Windler, Jeremiah Anderson, Rachel Windler, Zachary Cortez, Macayla Cortez, and Nicholas Telford.
Visitation will begin 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 10:30AM and Funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements made by care of Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the entire ENSO hospice team, especially Angela, the nurse who cared for Tom each week. Deacon Lorraine, who visited with Tom every week bringing him the Eucharist and on occasion delicious soup.
