

Tiburcio F. Rios, also known as “Butcho” by family and close friends was born on August 9, 1922 in Fredericksburg, TX. Tiburcio, received his calling to be with Lord on August 15, 2013 at the ripe age of 91 peacefully entering his eternal slumber at home surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lina Islas Rios, beloved son, Pastor Enrique Rios, parents, Tiburcio Sr. and Bernabe Rios, and loving granddaughter Patricia Torres. As a young man he played the harmonica and loved to dance. He was a hard worker who provided for his family as a roofer for many years. During the summer season, for over two decades, he was the Crew Leader to migrant workers who gathered together and traveled by convoy with his own large family to Michigan and Ohio for the harvest. His many hobbies included small machinery repair, working hours on end in his small garage which included fixing lawn mowers and fishing equipment. He loved to fish at Braunig and Calaveras Lake whenever he had the chance, and shared his joy and love for this past time where often times he fished with his lovely wife, Lina, son, Gilbert and many grandchildren. Tiburcio was always eager to compare fishing stories and often enjoyed giving fishing lessons and prided himself on coming out in the newspaper with his large catch. He was well known and had many friends, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his 13 children; Elvira Delgado, Linda Torres, Francisco Rios, Elvira Ybarra, Alicia Medina, Ramon Rios, Mary Ann Rutten, Virginia Rios, Lina Rueda, Irene Morgan (Matthew), Rosemary Rios, Gilbert Rios (Margie) and Leticia Favela (John); brother, Pablo Rios and numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Until we see you again beloved father, grandfather brother, uncle, and friend rest in peace. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. Tuesday August 20, 2013 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Chapel Service at 7:00 p.m. Procession will depart from the funeral home on Wednesday August 21, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.2.
