Timothy “Tim” Robert Lawson, 55, of Cibolo, TX, died peacefully in his home on June 25, 2023. He was born August 24, 1967, in Washington, DC to Robert Earl Lawson and Joy Prout Duffy and was raised in San Antonio, TX. He spent his career at Texas Disposal Systems in Austin, TX. He was devoted to his job, had a deep respect for his company, and was incredibly proud to work for TDS.
Tim was a favorite person for many people, especially in his family. He was kind, generous, brought laughter everywhere he went, and always knew how to liven up a conversation with his witty one-liners. He was an avid reader, a dedicated fantasy football enthusiast, and there wasn’t a taco place from San Antonio to Austin that Tim didn’t have an objective opinion on. He was equally as smart as he was funny, constantly surprising us with his knowledge of obscure topics and fun-facts.
Throughout Tim’s battle with leiomyosarcoma, a rare form of soft-muscle cancer, he maintained his positive attitude and unfailing sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Lawson and stepfather Michael Duffy. He is survived by his mother Joy Duffy, sister and brother-in-law Karen and Bryan Holliday, and niece and nephew Grace and Garrett Holliday.
At Tim’s insistence, we will not be having a service. Instead, we ask that you honor his memory by sharing with others the ways he made you laugh or impacted your life.
We would like to express our many thanks to Guiding Light Hospice for the care and comfort they provided Tim and our family. Our last weeks with him were made better by the support the team provided, and for that we are immensely grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tim’s honor to the Amma Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
