March 1951 - October 2011
Deputy Sheriff, healer, naval aviator, husband, Dad, Granddad, brother, and friend. These are but a few of the words that describe Tom. He joined the Navy after graduating from New Mexico State University in 1974 and trained as a Bombardier/Navigator on the Navy's A-6 Intruder. After his medical retirement from the Navy, Tom went to Palmer Chiropractic College and received his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1983 with a subsequent specialty in Pediatric Care. He realized 14 years of fulfillment as a Chiropractor until an automobile accident resulted in his having to retire. Retirement from chiropractic practice led Tom to his third career in law enforcement. Most recently, Tom worked as a Deputy Sheriff with Comal County. Tom was born on March 9, 1951 in Hammond, Indiana to Darrell and Ruth Cheek. He joined our Lord on Monday, October 24, 2011.
