Tom was born on February 8th, 1963, in Eufaula, Alabama, to George and Virginia Klotzbach. The youngest of three, he was raised in a military family, attending school in Austin before continuing his education in Waco. Tom had a larger-than-life personality, and made it a point to embrace every aspect of life with warmth and enthusiasm. In 1998, in San Antonio, he married the love of his life, Tammy, with whom he shared a passion for travel. Together they explored the world, before settling down in 2003 to welcome the arrival of their triplets.
Tom cherished every moment with his wife and children, making each second, no matter how small, an unforgettable adventure. When not working or traveling with his family, you could find him covered in grease and oil, taking something apart in his garage.
He spent the past 20 years working as an engineer and RTD driver for FedEx Express, and the 18 years prior as a driver, trainer, and supervisor for United Parcel Service. His hard work and dedication was admired by many, as well as his unshakable sense of humor.
Tom is preceded in death by his father, George Klotzbach. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Tammy, and his children, Breanna, Reid and Sean. He is also survived by his brother Mark (Brenda), his sister Laura (Mitch), and his mother, Virginia. Further, he leaves his nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held on March 17, 2025, with visitation from 11:00am - 12:30pm, service from 12:30pm - 1:30pm, and burial to follow immediately after. All services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
Tom’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Frank Miller, PA Jayson Young, the staff at the Mays Cancer Center, Otolaryngology Department, as well as the doctors and nurses of University Hospital in San Antonio.
