Tomas Martinez

Tomas was called to the Lord at 48 years old on February 5, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Tomas was born on October 11, 1971 to Tomas M. Martinez and Dora Linda Sanchez in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico. He proudly served the United States Air Force for seven years and received numerous honors and awards such as the Air Force Achievement Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, and a Joint Meritorious Unit Award. He honorably left the United States Air Force as a Senior Airman and attained an Associate’s Degree while there. He moved back to Del Rio, Texas to be close to family. On June 9, 2007, he married his love, Elizabeth A. Martinez. A year later on August 26, 2008, they welcomed a daughter, Eliana S. Martinez, who was the most important part of his life.

Tomas was proud to own his own trucking business until the opportunity to work at Boeing came along. As the Boeing San Antonio Site Core Materials Manager, he supported programs such as the 787, 747, and the Government Executive Transport Aircraft. He worked for the Boeing Company for over 11 years and during that time he managed approximately 15 direct employees, lead his team through several successful government and other customer exercises and audits. He was also well known and respected by members of the leadership team.

Tomas was an outstanding father, loving husband, devoted son, caring brother, and a reliable uncle and friend. He touched many lives throughout his 48 years of life. He knew how to make people laugh and at times, he was the life of the party. His cooking skills were top notch and could surpass any barbecue pit master. Tomas was one-of-a-kind and can never be replaced. He has left a lasting impression in all our hearts that can never be forgotten.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth A. Martinez of 12 years, his daughter, Eliana S. Martinez, his mother Dora Linda Martinez, his siblings, Dora Maria Mendoza (Jose Mendoza), Juanita Rodriguez, and Jose Martinez (Rosa Martinez).
