One of San Antonio's greatest boxing promoters, Tony G. Padilla, went to be with our Lord on August 18, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose V. Padilla and Rosa Garcia, brother, Joe G. Padilla and his wife Amelia and niece, Rose Padilla Rodriguez. Tony is survived by his wife, Velia R. Padilla; daughter, Mary Helen Padilla; son, Tony Padilla, Jr and wife Delores; brothers, Charlie G. Padilla and Domingo Padilla; grandson, Alex Padilla; great grandson, Darren Padilla; nieces, Margaret Padilla Caldera and Rachel Padilla King and her husband Charlie; nephew, Joe E. Padilla. Tony is also survived by Alicia Reyes, whom he considered a daughter in his eyes and her husband Raymond and her children whom he considered grandchildren as well, Belinda Trevino and husband Albert, Debbie Alvarado and Jesse Alvarado, and close friend Herlinda F. Perez. He is also survived by many other loving family members and a host of good friends.Entombment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Tony touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
