

Trinidad "Trini" Flores, 95, made his way home into the loving arms of our Lord on Friday, December 16, 2016 in San Antonio surrounded by his devoted children. He was born in Kendalia, TX, on August 7, 1921. He grew up in a farming family in Kendall and Wilson counties.
Trinidad proudly served his country during WWII in the 41st Infantry Division having fought in the Philippines and later as part of the Japanese occupation. He met his bride, Ruth Marie Helgeson, a true wartime "Rosie the Riveter," in Wilmington, DE, where they married in February 1945. They were in their 50th year of marriage when she passed away in 1994.
He owned and operated Trinidad Flores Concrete Construction Company for almost 60 years, retiring at the age of 90. Trini was a founding member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he was involved in numerous ministries and organizations.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; sons, John Paul and James; and granddaughter, Brooke Gonzalez. His memory will live on through his family which includes son, Michael Flores and wife Yolanda; daughter, Mary and husband Gus Lozano; daughter, Barbara Flores; along with longtime companion, Reymunda Martinez; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22 at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave.
