Trinidad R. Luna

Trinidad, known a China (Chee-na) or Trini to most, was very active throughout her life up until the very end and was a very independent person. In her childhood, she picked cotton and worked at her Grandmother’s restaurant on W. Poplar Street. She graduated from Lanier High School. After enjoying a long career at Kelly AFB as secretary to the military administrative officers there, she retired. Trinidad was completely bilingual and visited Mexico at various times.

Her life revolved around her mother, Dominga and her much younger cousin, Rosie R. Munoz (Flores). As a child, Rosie’s primary caregiver was China. Later in life, Rosie took care of China. China loved sports and it was said that she knew more about the Cowboys and the Spurs than the coaches did. Gardening was another passion for her as were Rosie’s children and grandchildren, whom she loved. Though she never married, nor had children, China lived a long, loving and fulfilling life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Benigno Luna and Dominga Ramos Luna; sisters, Anita Luna and Alice Luna.

She is survived by her cousins, Rosie M. Flores (Robert), Ruben Flores (Lori), Roberta Flores, Roxy Taylor, Rosendo Flores, Alex Flores, Lily Flores, Nico Flores, Carmen Enriquez (Robert), Rito Medina and Dinky Luna.

The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. for a 1:30 pm. Mass of the Resurrection at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2114 W. Commerce St., San Antonio, TX 78207. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.

Due to restrictions on public gatherings, the Visitation at Funeraria del Angel Trevino - 226 Cupples Road 78237 - will be limited to 50 people in the building at a time. Face Coverings are required to be worn at all times.

San Fernando Cemetery II will only allow 10 guest under the tent site.

Social distancing is required for all other guests.
