Troy D. Groomer

Troy was born on October 28, 1966 in Harlingen, Texas. He was raised in Port Isabel and attended Port Isabel High School. Troy was an all-round athlete, active in football, basketball and track.

After attending college at Texas Christian University, Troy joined the family businesses in San Antonio, Groomer Seafood of San Antonio.

In his early years, Troy attended First Baptist Church in Port Isabel and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

He resided in Mexico where he loved to snorkel, explore underwater caves and was an avid scuba diver and surfer. Troy shared his love of the water with others by teaching scuba diving and snorkeling to area tourists.

Troy is survived by his two loving daughters: Francesca Groomer and Leaven Groomer; his beloved parents, Susie and Gilbert Groomer; brothers: Rick Groomer Martha, Michael Groomer Brenda and Russell Groomer; nephews, Ryan and Blake; nieces, Kelsey, Leslie, Sierra and Rashell; and his maternal grandmother, Dora Jenkins.

Troy was a one of a kind individual who had a love for life and lived each day as if it was his last. He touched the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 10th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
