Troy proudly served in the U.S. Army for 19 years, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring. He held a bachelor's degree in science and dedicated much of his life to both service and family. Troy found great joy in watching his son play and coach football, and he was a devoted father and grandfather, always lending a hand to his daughter in caring for his beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maurine Smith Jinks; parents, Elmo and Johnnie Mae Jinks; brother, Roy Jinks; Sister, Ethel Mae Hawkins; and Great Niece, Kasie Hawkins Owens.
Troy is survived by his son, Michael Jinks with wife Meredith and children Jaden, Madison and Tristan; Daughter, Angela Butler and children Lynda, Faith and Jaylin; sister, Jessie Ann Anderson; nieces, Kimberly Hawkins and Courtney Boone; and nephews, Tony R. Hawkins, Sr. and Felix Ramirez, as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, at Porter Loring Mortuary West.
A graveside service will follow at 2:15 p.m., Friday, May 2, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
