Valentin Luna, Jr.

Valentin “Vale” Luna, Jr., age 50, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his son, Matthew Luna, mother, Leticia Silva, grandfather, Guadalupe Silva, siblings, Melinda Sandoval, Mariana Luna and husband Michael Dilloway, brother, Doroteo Luna, ex mother-in-law, Christine Rangel, ex-wife and still best friend, Valeria Rangel, nieces and nephews, Caleb, Isaac, Mikayla, Juliana, Jezelle, Janessa, Taylor “Tots”, and Cody, Great Niece, and Nephew La’Yanna and Josiah, as well as numerous other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by, his grandmother, Lydia Silva, grandfather, Doroteo V. Luna, Grandmother, Mariana Luna and ex father-in-law, Jose A. Rangel. Vale was born on September 29, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents, Leticia Silva and Valentin Luna. Vale graduated from South San High School in 1992 then went on to join the United States Army in 1996. He proudly served for six years as a Diesel Mechanic and spent time at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and Schofield Barracks, HI. Vale treasured his time in Hawaii and often spoke about his love for the Island and desire to retire then move back to Hawaii. After leaving the Army Vale worked several years at Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston as a Supervisor in the Engineering and Maintenance Department until he medically retired in 2022 due to health complications. Vale loved fishing and spending time with his son. After retiring Vale gave his life to Christ and spent time with his family. Vale was loved and will be truly missed by all.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm., Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Arturo Silva Jr, Michael Dilloway, Raul Ramirez Jr, Antonio Silva Jr, Caleb Sandoval, Isaac Sandoval, Jose C. Silva, Jr, and Doroteo Luna.
