Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Velma Adeline Enney Andrews, passed away on August 10, 2013 at Emeritus at Oakwell Farms in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on February 14, 1929 in Fargo, North Dakota to Alvin and Julia (Gallock) Enney. Velma met her husband David Andrews in Fargo and married on July 9, 1949 and shared 64 years of marriage. Velma and David co-owned an RV repair company but Velma loved being a homemaker. She decorated for every holiday and was an avid gardener; it brought her joy to witness all the beautiful colors nature had to offer. Known to those who loved her as “mom”, Velma was a proud American who lived life to the fullest, loved golfing with her husband, and puzzles with her grandchildren.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents and son David Michael Andrews. Survivors include her husband David H. Andrews; daughter Susan Elizabeth Andrews(Wayne Schmidt); son Stephen Alan Andrews(Crystal); grandchildren David Michael Andrews, Jr.(Rachel), Stevie Alan Andrews II(Rachel), Elizabeth “Cissy” Andrews Obergfell(Nyle); and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to send a special thank you to her extended family at Emeritus at Oakwell Farms, VITAS Hospice, and all who cared for Velma.
