Venancio P Gamez Jr.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Venancio P. Gamez Jr. He was called to the Lord on July 8, 2022 at the age of 75. He enjoyed watching wrestling and John Wayne western movies, he always made sure to have some popcorn and soda on hand. He loved his Stetson hats and cowboy boots and listening to Vicente Fernandez. He also loved being a truck driver.

He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Gamez; father, Venancio G. Gamez Sr.; mother, Jesusa Maria Gamez Ramos and sister, Guadalupe G. Chavez.

He is survived by his wife of over 37 years Delia S. Garcia; son, Daniel Gamez; stepsons, Alfonso, Rudy, Hector, Pedro and Freddy; step-daughters, Rosemary and Cynthia; step-dad, Sebastian Ramos; brothers, Jose (Maria) Gamez, Ector (Sylvia) Gamez, Emiterio (Beatrice) Gamez, Armando Gamez, Alfredo (Ida) Gamez, Juan Gamez, Jesse (Gloria) Gamez; sisters, Teresa (Dennis) Arroyo, Norma (Roger) Mendiola; brother-in-law, Willabaldo Chavez; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as numerous family and friends. Venancio will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

A visitation for Venancio will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A rosary will occur Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A chapel service will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. An internment will occur Friday, July 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at San Fernando Cemetery 2, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237.
