Viola H. Murray

Viola received her Nursing Degree at Marquette University and was commissioned an ensign of the U. S. Navy. She was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW post 8541. She loved being a mom and grandma and serving others until she couldn't, then she liked to read and work on her puzzles.

She is survived by Jim R. Sprague (Dorene), Kathleen Crabtree (Ronnie), Michael Sprague, Jo Ann Harris (William), Timothy Sprague (Felicia), Geri Dunlap, Daughter in Law Carmelita Sprague, step-daughter Judy Murray, and brother Frank Wellstein (Inge), and 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, James B. Sprague and John C. Murray. Sons Patrick Sprague, Ronald Sprague, and Dr. Steven Sprague, stepson Jimmy Mac Murray, daughter Barbara Perry, stepdaughter Florence Peckover and grandson Joshua Pogue. Also, sisters Lorraine Gloyer and Rose Marie Cheske.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 25 at Sunset Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the rosary from 7:00 pm to 8:00pm.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 26 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Viewing will be from 10:30 am to 11:00 am with services to follow. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception will follow at VFW post 8541 on Austin Hwy.
